Fire Commissioner David Wheeler resigned on Friday, August 5, 2011

PORT LUDLOW—August 5, 2011

Fire Commissioner Dave Wheeler Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue received a letter of resignation from Fire Commissioner David Wheeler on Friday August 5, 2011.  Commissioner Wheeler has held this position for just over twelve years and has held several key positions on the Board to include past Chairman and serving on the District finance committee and apparatus/ facilities committee.  Dave has been an active member of the Washington State Fire Commissioners Association during his tenure on the Board.

Wheeler in his letter stated that he was “appreciative for having had the opportunity to serve on the Board of this fine organization for the past twelve years”.  He went on to say that he continues “to hold the highest regard for the organization goals and personnel, which manage and work for Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue.”

Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue Commissioners will discuss Commissioner Wheeler’s resignation at their regular scheduled Board of Fire Commissioners Meeting Tuesday August 9, 2011.  The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at Station 31, 7650 Oak Bay Road, Port Ludlow.

Gene Carmody, Board Chair stated that “the remaining Board of Fire Commissioners and all of the men and women of PLFR wish to thank Commissioner Wheeler for his dedication and many years of service to the District and that we all wish him the best in the future".
