The Board of Fire Commissioners for Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue voted at a special Board meeting Tuesday September 21st, 2011 to appoint Mr. Ed Davis to the position #2 seat left vacant after the resignation of David Wheeler in August. Mr. Davis was sworn in by Tanya Cray, PLFR Administrative Assistant.
Commissioner Davis will finish the unexpired term through 2013. Having previously served as a Fire Commissioner for 8 years with Jefferson County Fire District No. 1 he understands the roles and responsibilities of a Fire Commissioner. Davis resigned from District No. 1 when he relocated to Port Ludlow in 2006.
Davis has lived in Jefferson County for 18 years and owns and operates Peninsula Insurance center with his wife, Sara. They have 2 grown sons.
Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue is a full service emergency services provider covering 55 square miles of Jefferson County. PLFR is a combination volunteer and career department, operating out of three fire stations providing 24-hour, 365-day a year service that includes fire suppression, rescue services, basic and advanced life support response and transport.
